The procedure for entering the Republic of Uzbekistan with a visa.
In accordance with Uzbek legislation, foreign citizens and stateless persons may enter Uzbekistan and transit through its territory with entry visas.
Visas are issued to foreign citizens and stateless persons by Uzbek diplomatic missions or consular posts abroad on the basis of visa support, and telex confirmation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
1. DIPLOMATIC and OFFICIAL VISA.
Holders of diplomatic/official/official passports and UN passports (UNLP BLUE) not included in the list of countries with which visa-free regime is established may enter Uzbekistan or travel within its territory only on the basis of entry visas issued by diplomatic missions or consular offices of Uzbekistan abroad on the basis of visa support (confirmation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan).
Visa support is issued on the basis of the application of the inviting organization, company and persons permanently or temporarily residing in Uzbekistan and submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
To obtain a visa, foreign citizens and stateless persons should submit the following documents to the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Germany on the basis of the telex - confirmation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan:
- photo 3,5 x 4,5 cm (2 pcs.), glued to the application forms;
- passport copy (only the title page of the passport with personal data and photo);
- a copy of a bank transfer confirming the payment of the consular fee (according to the established tariff);
- original passport (passport must be in good condition (not torn or damaged) and have at least one blank page for visa application, it must have at least three months validity period from the moment of entry into Uzbekistan;
Holders of diplomatic and UNLP passports are exempt from consular and other fees.
2. TOURISTIC VISA.
Foreign citizens, stateless persons and others who do not fall under the simplified regime specified in the section "The procedure for entry into Uzbekistan without a visa" and who wish to visit Uzbekistan for tourism purposes should contact travel agency companies to obtain a visa to Uzbekistan. The travel agency from Uzbekistan submits the necessary documents to the Consular and Legal Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Based on this, the Consular and Legal Department of the MFA sends a telex to the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Germany.

3. INVESTMENT VISA.
Investment visa is issued for the period of validity up to 3 years, issued to foreign citizens and stateless persons who have invested in the economy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the amount not less than 8,500 times the basic estimated value established in the Republic of Uzbekistan at the time of foreign investment, in the form of acquisition of shares and interests of economic societies, as well as the establishment of enterprises with foreign investment, issued at the request of these enterprises, with the possibility of extending its term without leaving the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
At the same time, family members (spouse, parents and children) of the investor are issued a guest visa "PV-2" for the period of validity of the visa "INV" with the right to extend it without leaving the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Citizens of foreign states, including the founders (participants) of enterprises with foreign investment, who have made investments in the organization on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan enterprises for the production of goods and services in the amount of at least 3 million U.S. dollars, in a simplified procedure is issued a residence permit in the Republic of Uzbekistan for 10 years;
Foreign investors, who have residence permit in the Republic of Uzbekistan or "investment visa", as well as their family members have the right to use medical and educational services on conditions, stipulated for citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
4. BUSINESS VISA.
The list of documents for business visas for foreign citizens:
- photo 3,5 x 4,5 cm (2 pcs.), glued to the application forms;
- passport copy (only the title page of the passport with personal data and photo);
- a copy of a bank transfer confirming the payment of the consular fee (according to the established tariff);
- original passport (passport must be in good condition (not torn or damaged) and have at least one blank page for visa application, it must have at least three months validity period from the moment of entry into Uzbekistan;
5. GUEST VISA.
On the intention to invite a foreign citizen on the territory of Uzbekistan, the inviting person shall submit an application to the local branch of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, where a notice shall be issued for subsequent submission by the inviting person to the Consular and Legal Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan. On the basis of this notice the Consular and Legal Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs sends a telex to the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Germany.
The inviting person shall inform the foreign citizen about the telex number, on the basis of which the foreign citizen submits the following documents to the Embassy for getting the guest visa.

6. TRANSIT VISA.
To obtain transit visa a foreign citizen shall submit the following documents to the Embassy:
- completed and signed visa application form in two copies (to be filled in at the website: evisa.mfa.uz);
- photo 3,5 x 4,5 cm (2 pcs.), glued to the application forms;
- passport copy (only the title page of the passport with personal data and photo);
- a copy of a bank transfer confirming the payment of the consular fee (according to the established tariff);
- original passport (passport must be in good condition (not torn or damaged) and have at least one blank page for visa application, it must have at least three months validity period from the moment of entry into Uzbekistan;
- in order to obtain a transit visa, foreign citizens and stateless persons must also have a visa of the state of destination and travel documents with a confirmed date of departure from Uzbekistan to the country of destination.
The transit visa is valid for up to three months from the date of issue, the number of visas - once or twice, the period of stay - up to 72 hours at each entry.
7. NEW CATEGORIES OF VISAS.
The following new categories (not electronic) of entry visas have been introduced for certain circles of foreign citizens visiting Uzbekistan:
- VATANDOSH - two summer visa for natives of the Republic of Uzbekistan and members of their families, with invitations from their relatives who are citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan and permanently residing in its territory;
- STUDENT VISA - a one-year visa, which is issued to foreign students studying in educational institutions located on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan, issued at the request of educational institutions, ministries, departments and organizations of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which have educational institutions under their jurisdiction;
- ACADEMIC VISA - visa from 3 months to 2 years for foreign persons wishing to conduct research and teaching activities in the Republic of Uzbekistan, issued at the request of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, research organizations, higher educational institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan, ministries or departments;
- MEDICAL VISA - visa up to three months for foreign nationals entering the Republic of Uzbekistan for treatment at the invitation of the medical institution;
- PILIGRIM VISA - pilgrimage visa, issued for up to three months to foreign nationals at the request of tourism and the Committee on Religious Affairs under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan to study the cultural-historical and religious and spiritual heritage, traditions of Uzbekistan.
Foreign citizens apply to the Embassy for a visa to Uzbekistan 10 working days in advance. In case foreign citizens apply for visa in less than 10 days, the rate of consular fee is increased by 30 percent, and in less than 3 days - by 50 percent.
A visa may be denied if a foreign citizen or stateless person is denied entry to Uzbekistan in accordance with the established procedure.
THE PROCEDURE FOR REGISTERING FOREIGN NATIONALS,
RESIDING IN UZBEKISTAN
Upon arrival at the point of temporary stay, foreign nationals (including nationals of countries with a visa-free regime and a simplified procedure for obtaining electronic visas) must temporarily register with the internal affairs agencies or register with accommodation facilities and medical institutions.
The national passport is submitted for temporary registration upon arrival at the destination point within three days, excluding holidays and weekends.
On 15 July 2018, the remote registration of foreign nationals and stateless persons through the Emehmon system (emehmon.uz) was launched in Uzbekistan.
Foreign tourists can move freely on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan, with the exception of areas and facilities closed to foreign citizens.
Violation of the rules of stay in the Republic of Uzbekistan will entail liability under Uzbek legislation.
IMPORTANT!
Citizens of Uzbekistan and their children who have a foreign passport and who have not withdrawn or lost their Uzbek citizenship on the basis of a presidential decree may not visit Uzbekistan on the basis of a foreign passport. They must visit Uzbekistan on the basis of a valid foreign and biometric passport or on the basis of a Certificate of Return to Uzbekistan issued by the Embassy if the passport has expired.
