In Berlin were discussed the Issues of enhancing bilateral ties between the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Bundestag of Germany
On March 4, 2021 a meeting was held with the Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Human Rights and Humanitarian Aid of the German Bundestag, Dr. Jurgen Braun, as well as a member of this Committee and the Parliamentary Group "Germany - Central Asia" Waldemar Herdt.
Issues of enhancing bilateral ties between the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Bundestag of Germany, as well as interaction in the economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres were discussed.
The German parliamentarian was informed in detail about the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan aimed at further democratizing society, strengthening the rights and freedoms of citizens, increasing the role of political parties and public organizations, as well as ensuring the socio-economic development of the country.
Particular attention was paid to the initiatives put forward by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh.M. Mirziyoyev within the framework of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly and the 46th session of the UN Human Rights Council.
Sides agreed on the regular maintenance of contacts and mutual support of initiatives aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation, including the exchange of experience in the field of parliamentarism and the field of human rights.
