Meeting with the Chairman of the Committee for Economic Cooperation and Development of the German Bundestag
On February 23, 2021, there was conducted a meeting at the Embassy with the Chairman of the Committee for Economic Cooperation and Development of the German Bundestag, Dr. Peter Ramsauer (CDU/CSU).
Issues of enhancing bilateral ties between the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the German Bundestag, as well as interaction in the economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres were discussed.
The German parliamentarian was informed in detail about the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan aimed at further democratizing society and developing the economy, the main directions of the republic's foreign policy and regional cooperation in Central Asia.
Particular attention was placed on the initiatives put forward by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh.M. Mirziyoyev within the framework of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly and the 46th session of the UN Human Rights Council.
An agreement was reached on regular maintenance of contacts and mutual support of initiatives aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation.
