German scientist becomes Honorary Professor of Tashkent Medical Academy
The Third Central Asian Radiation Oncology Congress focused on uniting leading scientific achievements and advanced medical technologies in clinical practice to achieve effective results in the fight against cancer and synthesizing international experience to save lives and preserve people's health.
The event was attended by oncologists, radiology physicists, specialists from Uzbekistan, Germany, Russia, Austria, China, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Poland. It was organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, OPASCA German Oncology Solutions GmbH, OPASCA GOS Central Asia subsidiary in Tashkent, as well as Progressive Medical Service.
It was noted that the Central Asian Radiation Oncology Congress, which has become a tradition, expands opportunities for mutual cooperation of local and foreign scientists in oncology.
The Congress, aimed at development of radiation oncology in Uzbekistan and Central Asia, contributes to creation of great opportunities for studying international experience in this area and getting acquainted with modern equipment for radiation therapy.
At the event, German scientist Frederick Wentz, who chaired the First Central Asian Radiation Oncology Congress in 2018, was awarded the title of Honorary Professor of Tashkent Medical Academy for his worthy contribution to the development of scientific relations between Uzbekistan and Germany in oncology.
Following the event, an agreement was reached on implementation of international experience in development of the sphere for further countering cancer in Central Asia and further strengthening relations in introducing modern technologies to improve the medical service.
