A regular meeting of Uzbekistan – Germany Business Council
As reported by the UzA national news agency, The 8th meeting of Uzbekistan – Germany Business Council was held at the Palace of Forums in Tashkent.
The event, with the participation of heads of ministries and agencies, representatives of the business circles of the two countries, was co-chaired by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and a Member of the Board of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy Manfred Grundke.
At the meeting, it was noted that thanks to the far-sighted policies of the heads of the two states, relations between Uzbekistan and Germany have reached a qualitatively new level of strategic partnership. This country is one of Uzbekistan’s leading trade and economic partners in Europe.
According to the data, in the last six years, mutual trade turnover has doubled and, in 2023, amounted to $1 billion. The number of joint ventures with German capital in Uzbekistan has tripled. It was noted that the activities of Uzbekistan – Germany Business Council played a significant role in these achievements.
A Business Forum was held as part of the Uzbekistan – Germany Business Council meeting. At the event, issues of increasing trade turnover and developing cooperation in the implementation of joint investment projects in various fields were discussed. An agreement was reached on the joint implementation of new projects based on the best experience of German companies in information technology, green energy, transport, and infrastructure development.
