“Dialogue of Declarations” International Forum kicks off in Tashkent
Scientific-practical workshops organized within the framework of the International Forum “Dialogue of Declarations” have kicked off in Tashkent today.
The event is held by the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan jointly with the Institute for Global Engagement (USA) with the support of the Committee on Religious Affairs under the Cabinet of Ministers Uzbekistan, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan, the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Uzbekistan, Samarkand and Bukhara regional hokimiyats.
Prominent religious scholars, theologians, legal scholars and officials from Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and the USA gathered in Tashkent to participate in the scientific-practical workshops. Representatives of various confessions, theologians, religious scholars and specialists of relevant ministries and agencies are taking part from the Uzbek side.
The participants will exchange experience in the development of interfaith dialogue in a multinational society, get acquainted with the best practices of ensuring the rule of law in matters of religious freedom, strengthen mutual trust and respect between representatives of different religions.
Following the event on May 18, foreign guests will visit the city of Samarkand, where they will get acquainted with its cultural-historical and religious-philosophical heritage, visit religious sites of various faiths and hold a dialogue with representatives of religious communities.
The main event of the International Forum “Dialogue of Declarations” will be held on May 19 in Bukhara, where the Bukhara Declaration will be adopted.
