Time-tested friendship: Uzbekistan and Germany celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

Friendly Uzbek-German ties are rooted in the far distant past. Germany was also one of the first to recognize when Uzbekistan became independent, following establishment of diplomatic relations already on March 6, 1992. Today we celebrate the 30th anniversary of this historic event.

Uzbekistan considers Germany as one of the major world leading potentials in the fields of economy, science and technology. For us, Germany is an important and reliable international partner. Bilateral cooperation is being actively developed in the areas of economics, culture, research, education, healthcare, and a variety of other fields.

Since the initiation of rows of reforms of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, we have witnessed a new, unprecedented scale revival in Uzbek-German cooperation. The year 2019 was especially noteworthy in this regard, when, after an 18-year break, the official visit of the Head of Uzbekistan to Germany took place. It is important to mention that a couple of months later in the same year, Federal President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier paid a return visit to Uzbekistan. These mutual visits opened a new chapter in bilateral relations, giving a powerful impetus to the development of cooperation in various fields.

The policy of reforms and the openness of the Uzbek economy have contributed to a significant intensification of bilateral trade and investment cooperation - Germany is the most important economic partner of Uzbekistan in Europe.

Taking this opportunity, we congratulate all friends and partners in Uzbekistan and Germany on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries and wish the two countries prosperity, success on the path of expanding mutually beneficial Uzbek-German cooperation!
