The main attention was paid to the preparation of the agenda of the upcoming summit, including the conclusion of an Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement.
Views were also exchanged on the situation in the region in connection with the escalation of tension in Afghanistan. The President of the European Council expressed deep gratitude to the Leader of Uzbekistan for practical assistance in carrying out humanitarian operations to evacuate citizens.
In addition, the fruitful results of the International Conference on the Connectivity of Central and South Asia, held in Tashkent in July this year, and the Third Consultative Meeting of Central Asian Leaders in early August in Turkmenistan were highly appreciated.
