The second round of Uzbek-Swedish political consultations takes place
On 25 February 2021, the second round of Uzbek-Swedish political consultations was held in the format of a video conference.
The Uzbek delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sherzod Asadov, the Swedish - by Deputy General Director, Director of the Department for Eastern Europe, Russia and Central Asia of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sweden Andreas von Beckerat.
During the event, issues of the development of bilateral relations in the political, trade and economic, investment, tourism, environmental, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres were discussed.
It was especially noted that Stockholm highly appreciates the speech of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the 46th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council.
They expressed interest in further strengthening inter-parliamentary ties, sharing best practices in lawmaking, organizing mutual visits of parliamentary delegations of the two countries.
During the talks, a set of measures was analyzed in detail to increase trade, diversify the structure of bilateral trade, implement investment projects jointly with Swedish associations and associations, and intensify direct contacts between representatives of the business circles of the two countries.
The meeting also discussed certain issues of the regional and international agenda.
