THE PRESIDENTS OF UZBEKISTAN AND GERMANY DISCUSSED ISSUES OF EXPANDING COOPERATION
President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier on March 14.
The sides discussed issues of further strengthening multifaceted relations between Uzbekistan and Germany and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.
At the beginning of the meeting, the two leaders congratulated each other on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and expressed their sincere wishes.
It was noted with great satisfaction that during this historic period, great work has been done together to develop bilateral relations, laying a solid foundation for mutual trust and partnership.
The leaders also discussed the state and prospects of practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and Germany, emphasizing the importance of maintaining regular political dialogue and active contacts at various levels.
Particular attention was paid to the promotion of joint cooperation projects with leading German companies and banks in trade, investment, high technology, industry, agriculture and other fields.
It was noted the importance of expanding financial and technical assistance, as well as cultural and humanitarian exchanges, especially in the field of in-depth teaching of the German language in Uzbekistan.
The Presidents exchanged views on topical issues of the international agenda, including the situation around Ukraine. It was stressed that political and diplomatic efforts should be continued to prevent the situation from escalating and to resolve the conflict as soon as possible.
