Uzbek Scholars to Cooperate with Oxford on Islamic Studies

One of the prominent research institutions in the world, Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies (OCIS) has announced it launched cooperation with Uzbekistan in its recent article posted on the OCIS News website.

Worth reminding that Dr. Farhan Ahmad Nizami, director of the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies, visited Uzbekistan last December. During the trip, the scholar was received by the country’s Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov. The expert also traveled to the Imam Bukhari International Research Centre in Samarkand, the Centre for Islamic Civilization in Tashkent, and the Islamic Studies Research Centre of Tashkent University of Islam. There, the sides discussed prospects of academic interaction and inked memoranda of understanding.

As the OCIS News article informs, Nizami’s visit to Uzbekistan resulted in agreements envisaging joint research works among scholars of our two nations in pressing issues, exchange of specialists and expertise, organization of international conferences and seminars, as well as publication of academic literature.
