Tashkent hosts Uzbek-German foreign ministry consultations


The Uzbek foreign ministry held the 13thround of Uzbek-German foreign affairs political consultation, welcoming a German delegation, headed by Andreas Peschke, Federal Foreign Office Director for Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia.

The sides discussed the political, trade, economy, scientific, and cultural agendas.

The exchange of congratulatory notes between President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Chancellor Angela Markel celebrating 25 years of diplomatic relations has reaffirmed the countries’ commitment to greater cooperation and continuing dialogue on global and regional affairs.

The foreign ministries’ officials said the 2017-2021 Five Area Action Strategy opens new possibilities for all-around cooperation, particularly in investment.

The sides spoke for stronger contacts between the scientific, cultural, and public communities of Uzbekistan and Germany.

The foreign ministries’ officials also reviewed regional and international affairs.

Germany’s Ambassador Neithart Hofer-Wissing also attended the consultations.
