Foreign ministers of Uzbekistan and Oman hold talks in Tashkent


On 20 April, Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov received the delegation of the Sultanate of Oman headed by the General Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Badr bin Hamad al-Busaidi, who arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in bilateral negotiations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said.

At the beginning of the conversation, the parties exchanged congratulations on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Oman, which will be celebrated in our countries on April 22.

The sides noted mutual interest in expanding cooperation in all possible areas and the availability of the necessary capacity. These issues should be put at the centre of activities of the effective Embassy of Oman in Tashkent and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the city of Muscat, which is set to open soon.

During the conversation, they also discussed topical aspects of international politics.

The same day saw the fifth round of the Uzbek-Omani Ministerial political consultations, which thoroughly and objectively discussed topical issues of bilateral agenda in the context of a mutual desire to strengthen cooperation in various fields.

Special attention was paid to the cooperation in transport-communication sector, with emphasis on the triggering mechanisms of the transport corridor Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Oman.
